The living environment curriculum takes a 21st Century approach to develop students’ understanding and appreciation of the living and nonliving environment from both local and global perspectives. Using crosscutting concepts and scientific practices, students develop core content and skills that will serve as catalysts for learning more elusive concepts and principles in advance science courses. In addition, the rudiments will empower and prepare students to pose and solve questions to authentic problems that plague scientists on a daily basis. Having become critical consumers of scientific information, students will be equipped to adopt the role of environmental change agents in the international scientific community.
